Marvel’s X-Men Director Meets Rising Star Who Already Has Her Dream Mutant Role!

Marvel Studios’ upcoming X-Men reboot remains one of the most anticipated projects in the MCU’s future slate. Marvel Studios has not revealed the cast of its upcoming X-Men reboot. However, speculation surrounding the film continues to grow. Fans are eagerly waiting for the first major announcements. In recent months, fans and insiders have linked several actors to the project. As a result, discussions about Marvel’s iconic mutants have intensified.

X-Men Director Jake Schreier Recently Met With Inde Navarrette

Speaking with Variety, actress Inde Navarrette revealed that she recently met with X-Men director Jake Schreier. While Marvel Studios has not confirmed that the meeting was related to casting, the revelation has naturally led to speculation about whether the actress could eventually join the upcoming reboot.

Navarrette also praised Schreier’s work on Thunderbolts, highlighting the filmmaker’s character-driven approach to storytelling.

She said:

“I thought what Jake brought to Thunderbolts was what I used to love about Marvel. It was character-driven, and the whole time I just couldn’t stop yapping about how much I appreciated what he did with Marvel.”

At this point, Marvel Studios has not officially cast Navarrette in the film.

Inde Navarrette Already Knows Which X-Men Character She Wants to Play

During the interview, reporters asked Navarrette which mutant she would most like to play in Marvel’s X-Men reboot. Without hesitation, the actress named one of the franchise’s most popular characters.

She said:

“I mean, Mystique has always been super cool.”

Mystique has been one of the X-Men’s most recognizable figures for decades, thanks to her shape-shifting abilities and complex history within the Marvel universe. If Navarrette eventually lands the role, she would become the third actor to portray the character in live action.

Two Hollywood Stars Have Brought Mystique to Life

Mystique previously appeared in Fox’s X-Men franchise, where the character was first portrayed by Rebecca Romijn before Jennifer Lawrence took over the role in later films.

Meanwhile, Romijn is set to reprise Mystique once again in Avengers: Doomsday, marking the character’s return to the big screen as Marvel continues to expand its mutant storylines.

Although Navarrette’s interest in the role is now public, there is still no confirmation that Marvel plans to cast her as the iconic mutant.

Other X-Men Casting Rumors Continue to Surface

As anticipation for X-Men continues to grow, several other casting rumors have also emerged. Earlier reports suggested that Samara Weaving had been cast as Emma Frost, while more recent rumors claimed that Charles Melton had joined the project in an undisclosed role.

However, Marvel Studios has yet to officially confirm either report.

With the studio keeping most details under wraps, fans will likely continue speculating until Marvel makes its first major casting announcement.

Marvel Studios has not announced an official release date for X-Men. Nevertheless, the film is widely expected to debut after Avengers: Secret Wars, which is scheduled to hit theaters in 2027.

Until then, every casting rumor and creative update will continue to draw attention as Marvel prepares to usher mutants into the MCU’s next era.
