Black Panther 3 Report Teases the Return of a Major Original MCU Star!

The future of Wakanda continues to expand as Marvel Studios prepares the next chapter in the Black Panther franchise with Black Panther 3. While details about the upcoming movie remain limited, new reports suggest that a familiar face from the original film could soon return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The potential comeback has excited fans, especially because the first movie left the character’s story unresolved. Now, a new report hints that Black Panther 3 could finally explore what happened to one of Wakanda’s important figures.

Daniel Kaluuya Reportedly Returning as W’Kabi in Black Panther 3

According to a new report from industry insider Jeff Sneider, Daniel Kaluuya is reportedly close to finalizing a deal to reprise his role as W’Kabi in Black Panther 3.

Sneider claimed that Kaluuya “is nearing a deal to reprise his role as W’Kabi, who sat out the prior installment.” However, Marvel Studios has not officially confirmed the actor’s return at this time.

If the report is accurate, W’Kabi’s comeback would mark his first major appearance since the original Black Panther.

W’Kabi’s Absence in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Explained

Daniel Kaluuya first appeared as W’Kabi in Black Panther (2018), where he played the leader of Wakanda’s Border Tribe and one of T’Challa’s closest allies.

However, the character did not appear in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. At the time, Kaluuya couldn’t return because his schedule conflicted with the filming of Nope.

Later, director Ryan Coogler explained that W’Kabi’s absence had a story reason. After supporting Killmonger during the events of the first movie, Wakanda reportedly banished W’Kabi for his betrayal.

Because W’Kabi is still alive in the MCU timeline, his return could allow Black Panther 3 to explore his life during exile and his possible journey back to Wakanda.

Wakanda’s Future Takes Shape After Recent Events

The upcoming movie will continue expanding Wakanda’s story after the events of Wakanda Forever. With new leadership and a changing world, the story could introduce new conflicts while also bringing back important characters from the past.

Letitia Wright is expected to return as Shuri, while David Jonsson is set to portray the new Black Panther.

Additionally, Ryan Coogler will return as director, continuing his connection with the franchise that began with the first Black Panther movie.

Marvel Studios has not revealed many official details about the plot of Black Panther 3. However, the movie is currently expected to arrive in theaters on December 15, 2028.

Meanwhile, fans are waiting for more announcements about the cast, story details, and how the next chapter will shape the future of Wakanda in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

If Daniel Kaluuya officially returns, Black Panther 3 could bring closure to W’Kabi’s unfinished storyline. His connection to Wakanda’s Border Tribe and his complicated history with T’Challa could create an interesting emotional storyline.

Moreover, bringing back an original MCU character could help connect Wakanda’s past with its future. Until Marvel Studios confirms the casting, fans will have to wait for official updates.
