Marvel Studios has explored several corners of its universe in recent years, introducing fans to unique characters and unexpected genres. However, some projects have left audiences wondering when they will return. One such fan-favorite is Werewolf by Night, which brought Marvel’s supernatural side into the spotlight.
Since its debut, fans have been hoping to see more of Jack Russell’s story. Although conversations about a follow-up project continue, the wait for another Werewolf by Night adventure may be longer than expected.
Werewolf by Night Sequel Discussions Are Still Ongoing
Director Michael Giacchino recently shared an update about the future of Werewolf by Night. During the red-carpet event for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Giacchino confirmed that Marvel is still discussing a possible continuation.
The filmmaker explained that these projects require extensive planning because every Marvel release needs to fit within the studio’s larger schedule.
“We’re talking about it. Everything takes forever to do. There’s a lot of planning that has to happen. Everything has to fit into a particular place at a particular time.”
Giacchino added that projects often move slower than creators and fans would like. However, he remains hopeful that audiences will eventually see another Werewolf by Night story.
Michael Giacchino Wants Another Werewolf by Night Special
Although there is no confirmed release date, Giacchino expressed his desire to continue exploring the supernatural corner of the MCU.
The director said:
“I hope that one day you’ll be sitting there watching another Werewolf by Night. That’s my hope.”
Previously, in November, Giacchino suggested that a Werewolf by Night sequel could become his next directing project. However, his latest comments indicate that Marvel has not finalized any production plans yet.
Why Fans Are Still Waiting for Werewolf by Night Season or Sequel News?
Released in 2022, Werewolf by Night became Marvel Studios’ first Special Presentation. The project stood apart from traditional MCU releases because of its classic horror-inspired style and black-and-white presentation.
The special introduced Gael García Bernal as Jack Russell, a monster hunter hiding his own supernatural identity.
Furthermore, the success of the special showed that Marvel could explore darker and more experimental stories. As a result, many fans continue to hope that Marvel Monsters will receive more attention in the future.
