Therefore, Cretton could have a major commitment before potentially returning to the Spider-Man franchise.
If Marvel Studios and Sony want Cretton to return for Spider-Man 5, his Naruto schedule could push the next Spider-Man movie further into the future.
Of course, this does not confirm that Cretton will direct the fifth movie. It also does not confirm that his schedule will delay the project. Nevertheless, his upcoming work could become an important factor.
Spider-Man 5 Could Arrive After Avengers: Secret Wars
Marvel’s upcoming Avengers movies could also affect the timing of Spider-Man 5.
Marvel Studios has scheduled Avengers: Doomsday for December 18, 2026, followed by Avengers: Secret Wars on December 17, 2027.
According to the information provided, there are reportedly no MCU movies scheduled between these two major releases.
