Marvel Studios has released the official VisionQuest trailer, and it officially brings Paul Bettany back as Vision. As a result, fans finally get their first real look at the character’s next chapter on Disney+.
What is VisionQuest About?
The Disney+ series VisionQuest directly follows WandaVision. Viewers can expect a story deeply tied to the fallout of that series. Paul Bettany reprises his role as Vision. He first appeared in Avengers: Age of Ultron and later returned in Captain America: Civil War and WandaVision. Notably, VisionQuest concludes a trilogy that began with WandaVision and continued with Agatha All Along.
Specifically, the story follows White Vision as he hides from authorities after being weaponized during the events of WandaVision. Meanwhile, Todd Stashwick plays Paladin, a bounty hunter pursuing Vision throughout the series.

VisionQuest Trailer Brings Back a Familiar Villain
In addition to Bettany’s return, James Spader also returns as Ultron, a decade after his last appearance in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Furthermore, the cast includes Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer, James D’Arcy, Orla Brady, Emily Hampshire, and Ruaridh Mollica, and together they round out an ensemble surrounding Vision’s journey.
Terry Matalas Leads VisionQuest as Showrunner
Star Trek: Picard veteran Terry Matalas serves as showrunner for the series. Bettany previously praised Matalas, saying,
“I think that Terry realized and agreed with me that I feel like Marvel gets rewarded when it takes really big swings.”
He added,
“I think that he just understood in his bones who Vision is. And Vision is for the kid that I was when I was a kid — the kid that felt like an outsider and felt like they had no community that they fit into. He knew who these stories are for and who Vision is for. And I think we made a really fun and entertaining show about a guy who’s an outsider and trying to find out who he is.”
Fans won’t have to wait long — VisionQuest will consist of eight episodes and premieres on Disney+ on October 14, 2026.
