Mahershala Ali’s Blade Could Debut in Marvel Zombies
Mahershala Ali’s Blade has yet to physically appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but that could be about to change. A newly revealed Funko Pop figure strongly suggests the character will appear in Marvel Studios’ animated series Marvel Zombies, set to premiere on October 3, 2025, on Disney+.
The figure, labeled “Blade Knight,” features Blade in a striking black, white, and silver suit. It includes a covered mouth, sword, and spike—classic Blade details that fans will immediately recognize. Although this would not mark his live-action debut, it would be Ali’s second portrayal of Blade, following his voice cameo at the end of Eternals (2021).
What the “Blade Knight” Reveal Tells Us
Although Marvel hasn’t officially confirmed Blade’s inclusion in Marvel Zombies, the leak is hard to ignore. If accurate, it would serve as a creative way to reintroduce Mahershala Ali’s Blade to audiences in a fresh format while building anticipation for the standalone movie.
Blade’s Solo Film Still in Limbo
Since Ali was announced for the role of Blade back in 2019, the project has experienced repeated delays, rewrites, and creative shakeups. Over the years, a rotating list of directors and writers—such as Bassam Tariq, Yann Demange, Stacy Osei-Kuffour, and Beau DeMayo—have been attached to the film.
Most recently, Marvel Studios reportedly “cracked” a new idea for the movie, giving fans a reason to stay hopeful. Still, there have been no official announcements regarding production status or casting updates.
Is Mia Goth Still Part of Mahershala Ali’s Blade Film?
Another lingering question is whether reported cast members like Mia Goth remain part of the Blade project. With so many creative changes, the status of the supporting cast remains unclear. Until Marvel provides new information, fans can only speculate on who will join Mahershala Ali’s Blade on screen.
The leaked Funko Pop may not provide a full look at Mahershala Ali’s Blade, but it certainly builds excitement. Even if it’s just an animated appearance, it signals Marvel’s ongoing commitment to the character. After years of uncertainty, fans are finally getting a glimpse of what’s ahead. Hopefully, this is just the beginning—and the long-awaited live-action debut won’t be far behind.
