The animated Spider-Verse continues to grow rapidly, giving fans even more reasons to celebrate. According to recent reports, Sony is actively developing three new Spider-Man spinoff films. Following the massive success of Into the Spider-Verse and Across the Spider-Verse, the studio is now expanding the universe further. Specifically, Sony is working on solo projects featuring Spider-Punk, Spider-Woman, and an animated version of Venom.
Spider-Man Spinoff Spotlight: Spider-Punk Takes Center Stage
Of the three projects, the Spider-Punk film seems to be making the most progress. According to Deadline, Daniel Kaluuya will reprise his role as Hobie Brown, better known as Spider-Punk. In addition to voicing the character, he’s also co-writing the script alongside Ajoná Alexus Singh. Kaluuya’s bold performance and punk-rock style stood out in Across the Spider-Verse. As a result, fans are eager to see more of his rebellious web-slinger in action.
Kaluuya will also reprise his role in the upcoming Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, scheduled to release on June 25, 2027. By lending both his voice and writing talents, Kaluuya brings the same edgy, high-energy tone that turned Spider-Punk into a fan favorite.

What Makes Spider-Punk a Fan Favorite?
Spider-Punk was first introduced in the comics as a punk-inspired version of Spider-Man from Earth-138. His rebellious attitude and bold visual design quickly struck a chord with fans. In this upcoming solo film, the story will explore his backstory and worldview in greater depth—diving into areas that earlier Spider-Verse appearances only briefly introduced.
Other Spider-Man Spinoff Films in Development
Although Spider-Punk is currently in the spotlight, two additional animated projects are also in the early stages of development. Together, these spinoffs aim to expand the Spider-Verse even further and introduce fresh perspectives within the multiverse.
Spider-Woman

According to industry insider Daniel Richtman (@DanielRPK), Sony is developing an animated Spider-Woman film. Although the studio hasn’t shared any plot details or announced a creative team, early speculation points toward a focus on Jessica Drew—or possibly another multiversal variant. Regardless of direction, this project has the potential to introduce a fresh and dynamic female perspective to the expanding Spider-Verse.
Venom
Also reported by Richtman, an animated Venom film is said to be in its early stages. Unlike Sony’s live-action version, which has seen great box office success, this animated version may offer a multiversal twist. It could explore alternative versions of the symbiote or tell a darker story that fits better within the stylistic freedom of animation.

The Spider-Verse Is Just Getting Started
With Beyond the Spider-Verse already on the horizon and these three exciting Spider-Man spinoff films in the works, it’s clear that Sony is investing heavily in the animated multiverse. These new stories will not only expand the Spider-Verse but also give individual characters the spotlight they deserve.
As more details emerge, fans can look forward to a richer, more diverse Marvel animated universe—one that thrives on creativity, boldness, and multiversal storytelling.
