Spider-Man Producer Reveals the One Dating Advice Tom Holland and Zendaya Ignored!

When actors spend months filming together, strong friendships—and sometimes romance—can naturally develop. That has certainly been the case for several stars across the Spider-Man franchise over the years. While many fans have celebrated these real-life relationships, one longtime producer recently revealed that she always tries to prevent them from happening in the first place.

Interestingly, the advice wasn’t exclusive to one generation of Spider-Man actors. Instead, it has become a tradition that spans multiple casts. However, one of Marvel’s most beloved couples decided to follow their hearts rather than the producer’s recommendation.

Spider-Man Producer Amy Pascal Warned Tom Holland and Zendaya Not to Date

During a recent interview with Variety, Spider-Man producer Amy Pascal revealed that she advised Tom Holland and Zendaya to avoid starting a romantic relationship when they first joined the cast.

Speaking about the pair, Pascal admitted that none of the actors have ever taken her advice seriously.

“I say this to all of them, and nobody ever listens to me.”

Looking back at the couple’s recent marriage, Pascal added:

“I think they’re pretty happy together.”

The two stars first met while filming Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2016. Although romance rumors circulated for years, they publicly confirmed their relationship in 2021. Later, they became engaged in 2025 before marrying earlier this year in a private ceremony.

Amy Pascal Gave the Same Advice to Previous Stars

This was not the first time Pascal had given the same warning.

She explained that she privately spoke to both Tom Holland and Zendaya shortly after they joined the franchise.

“I took Tom and Zendaya aside, separately, when we first cast them and gave them a lecture. Don’t go there—just don’t. Try not to.”

Moreover, Pascal revealed she delivered nearly identical advice to Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone during their time leading the franchise.

“I gave the same advice to Andrew [Garfield] and Emma [Stone]. It can just complicate things, you know?”

Garfield and Stone began dating in 2011 before ending their relationship in 2015. Even so, they have remained close friends over the years.

Spider-Man Has a Long History of Real-Life Romance

Tom Holland and Zendaya aren’t the first co-stars to develop a real-life relationship.

Before them, Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone dated during their time working on The Amazing Spider-Man films. Even earlier, Tobey Maguire reportedly dated his Spider-Man co-star Kirsten Dunst while filming Sam Raimi’s original trilogy.

Nevertheless, Holland and Zendaya have become the franchise’s most successful real-life couple in the eyes of many fans. Their relationship has continued to grow alongside their Spider-Man journey, making them one of Hollywood’s most admired couples.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day Arrives This Month

Fans won’t have to wait long to see the couple share the screen once again.

Tom Holland and Zendaya will both return in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which is scheduled to release worldwide on July 31, 2026. The upcoming MCU film is expected to launch a new chapter for Peter Parker following the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home.

With excitement continuing to build, audiences are eager to see what the next adventure has in store for Marvel’s iconic web-slinger.

Amy Pascal’s advice may have been well-intentioned, but Tom Holland and Zendaya ultimately proved that every story is different. Their relationship has become one of Hollywood’s most beloved success stories, and their return in Spider-Man: Brand New Day is only adding to the anticipation surrounding the MCU’s future.
