Despite earlier speculation, Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk will not appear in the upcoming Wonder Man series. Many fans had hoped to see the beloved character return. However, as recent confirmations reveal, Hulk’s next MCU appearance will be in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which is set to release on July 31, 2026. Consequently, this update ensures Ruffalo remains a part of the MCU while also shifting focus to Spider-Man’s new storyline.
Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk MCU Status Confirmed
According to insider reports, Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk is not part of the Wonder Man series. Scooper MyTimeToShineHello confirmed,
“Ruffalo’s Hulk is not part of Wonder Man.”
Fans can still look forward to seeing Hulk in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. In this film, his role will play an important part in the ongoing MCU narrative.
Ruffalo has portrayed Bruce Banner/Hulk since The Avengers (2012). He also appeared most recently in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, establishing himself as one of the most iconic characters in the MCU.While some fans felt disappointed that Hulk does not appear in Wonder Man, Spider-Man includes him, ensuring the character’s story continues seamlessly.
Upcoming Projects: Wonder Man and Spider-Man
The Wonder Man series, set to release in December 2025, stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Simon Williams, also known as Wonder Man. The series also brings back Ben Kingsley in his role as Trevor Slattery and is co-created by Destin Daniel Cretton. Marvel executive Brad Winderbaum described the show as:
“a very new flavor for Marvel” and “the best show no one’s ever seen.”
Although Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk will not appear, Wonder Man promises to deliver fresh storytelling. The series aims to expand the MCU universe in exciting and unexpected ways.
On the other hand, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, set to release on July 31, 2026, will bring Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk back into the MCU. The film is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and stars Tom Holland reprising his role as Spider-Man. It also features Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle, also known as the Punisher.
