The Avengers: Doomsday Post Credits Scene could reportedly contain a major surprise for Marvel fans. A new claim suggests that recent filming involving Elizabeth Olsen’s stunt double may have been connected to the movie’s post-credits sequence.
If accurate, the scene could mark the return of one of the MCU’s most powerful heroes.
Marvel scooper @MyTimeToShineH claims that the footage involving Olsen’s stunt double was not part of the movie’s main storyline. Instead, the insider alleges that it was filmed specifically for the post-credits scene.
“So I just got more details on what they filmed with Olsen’s stunt double – it was for the post-credits scene of Avengers Doomsday. More details soon.”
The claim immediately raises questions about whether Elizabeth Olsen could return as Wanda Maximoff, better known as the Scarlet Witch.
Avengers: Doomsday Post Credits Scene Could Reveal Wanda
Marvel Studios has not confirmed Elizabeth Olsen’s involvement in Avengers: Doomsday. Therefore, the alleged connection between her stunt double and the Avengers: Doomsday Post Credits Scene remains firmly in rumor territory. However, the possibility is significant because Wanda’s story remains one of the MCU’s most unresolved arcs.
Wanda began her journey as an opponent of the Avengers before eventually turning against Ultron. She later became one of the team’s most powerful members, especially as her abilities continued to grow.
Her relationship with the Avengers also became more personal through Vision.
Wanda’s MCU Journey Could Make Her Return Complicated
Vision’s death during the battle against Thanos became a defining moment in Wanda’s story. His death pushed her deeper into grief, eventually leading to the events of WandaVision. In the series, Wanda created the Westview reality while struggling to cope with everything she had lost. Although she eventually released the town, her story took an even darker turn afterward.
In Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Wanda pursued her children across alternate realities. Her actions placed her directly against Doctor Strange and several other heroes.
The movie ultimately appeared to end her story when Wanda destroyed the Darkhold and was buried beneath Mount Wundagore. That ending, however, has left plenty of room for speculation about a possible return.
The Scarlet Witch Has Unfinished MCU Business
If Wanda does return, Marvel could explore several unresolved parts of her story. Her connection to the Avengers remains important. Meanwhile, her history with Vision and her desire to reunite with her children could create an emotional reason for her to re-enter the larger MCU storyline.
A return could also raise questions about whether the Scarlet Witch comes back as a hero, an antagonist, or something in between.
Furthermore, the multiverse gives Marvel several ways to explain her survival or introduce another version of the character. That makes a post-credits appearance particularly interesting because Marvel could use a brief scene to establish Wanda’s next chapter without revealing her full role in the movie.
Avengers: Doomsday Has Major MCU Connections
Avengers: Doomsday is already expected to be one of the MCU’s biggest crossover events. The movie will bring together characters from the Avengers, Fantastic Four, and X-Men franchises. Robert Downey Jr. will also return to the MCU in a completely different role as Doctor Doom.
Joe and Anthony Russo are directing the movie, set to hit theaters on December 18, 2026. With so many major characters involved, Marvel has plenty of opportunities to use the movie to establish what comes next for the MCU.
Could Wanda Set Up the MCU’s Next Chapter?
The reported Avengers: Doomsday Post Credits Scene could become one of the movie’s most important moments if the claim proves accurate. A Wanda appearance would not necessarily mean she plays a major role in the main story. Instead, Marvel could use the post-credits sequence to tease her return and establish a future storyline.
For now, though, Marvel has not confirmed Elizabeth Olsen’s involvement, so fans should treat the claim as a rumor rather than an official announcement.
Still, if the report is accurate, seeing the Scarlet Witch return after her apparent fate in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness could have major implications for the MCU’s next era.
