Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 appears ready to take Matt Murdock into one of the darkest chapters of his life. Following the shocking events of Season 2, the Man Without Fear finds himself behind bars while his enemies continue to threaten Hell’s Kitchen.
Now, new promotional artwork offers an early look at Matt’s prison storyline. Moreover, the image appears to draw inspiration from a popular Daredevil comic run while teasing the brutal conditions Matt will face before he can return to the streets.
Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 Promo Art Teases Matt’s Prison Storyline
A new crew gift artwork from Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 has surfaced following the end of principal photography. The artwork seemingly provides the first look at Matt Murdock’s prison attire.
In the image, Matt wears an orange prison outfit. However, the artwork suggests that his time behind bars will be far from peaceful. Matt appears bloodied and badly injured, hinting at a brutal confrontation inside the prison.
The artwork also shows Matt seemingly using part of his prison shirt as a makeshift mask. As a result, the image immediately evokes the gritty tone that has become a major part of the character’s story.
The design also appears to reference Chip Zdarsky’s acclaimed Daredevil comic run. During that storyline, Matt wore an orange prison uniform while incarcerated.
Matt Murdock’s Prison Arc Follows the Season 2 Cliffhanger
Matt’s imprisonment directly follows the dramatic ending of Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. After revealing his secret identity, Matt faced devastating consequences.
Meanwhile, Wilson Fisk was exiled from New York. As a result, both Matt and Fisk entered the next chapter of the story in dramatically different positions.
While Fisk was forced away from the city, Matt found himself behind bars. Therefore, Season 3 could explore how the hero survives prison while his enemies continue to fight for control of Hell’s Kitchen.
However, set photos have already hinted that Matt eventually escapes or receives his freedom. The photos also tease his reunion with Elektra.
Elektra Could Become Hell’s Kitchen’s New Daredevil
While Matt remains imprisoned, Elektra appears ready to protect Hell’s Kitchen in his absence.
Set photos have suggested that Elektra will wear an inverted version of Matt’s Daredevil costume. Consequently, she could take on the role of Daredevil while Matt remains unable to protect the city himself.
This storyline could create a fascinating conflict. On one hand, Matt may struggle to survive his prison ordeal. On the other, Elektra could face dangerous enemies on the streets of Hell’s Kitchen.
Their eventual reunion could become one of the most important moments in Daredevil: Born Again Season 3.
Bullseye, the Defenders, and Muse Return in Daredevil: Born Again Season 3
The new promotional artwork also appears to tease several major storylines for the upcoming season.
Most notably, the artwork hints at the return of the Defenders. Additionally, it teases a potential showdown between Bullseye and Elektra.
The season will also introduce the female version of Muse. The character could become another major threat as Hell’s Kitchen descends further into chaos.
Furthermore, behind-the-scenes prison photos have already raised questions about Bullseye’s role in Matt’s storyline. The images seemingly suggest that Bullseye disguises himself as a prison officer.
If that theory proves accurate, Matt could face a major confrontation with his longtime enemy while still trapped inside prison.
Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ in 2027.
Although Marvel Studios has not revealed the exact release date, the new promotional artwork provides an exciting glimpse at what awaits Matt Murdock. With a brutal prison arc, Elektra’s return as a potential new Daredevil, Bullseye’s possible infiltration, the Defenders, and Muse entering the story, Season 3 could deliver the most intense chapter of the series yet.
