Avengers: Doomsday

New Avengers: Doomsday Artwork May Be Teasing a Major Doctor Doom Twist!

Marvel Studios has not released a new Avengers: Doomsday trailer for months. However, fans have still found something new to analyze. A recently shared piece of promotional artwork has sparked fresh discussion online. Eagle-eyed viewers noticed an interesting detail involving Doctor Doom and Loki. Marvel Studios has not confirmed that the artwork contains any hidden clues. Even so, it has reignited one of the biggest rumors surrounding the upcoming Avengers film.

The speculation centers on a theory that could change Marvel Studios’ adaptation of Secret Wars. If true, it would also give Doctor Doom an even more powerful role in the Multiverse Saga.

Avengers: Doomsday Artwork Has Fans Looking at Loki and Doctor Doom

New artwork by Marvel Studios visual development artist Andy Park has become the latest topic of conversation among MCU fans. The artwork showcases many heroes expected to appear in Avengers: Doomsday. However, one specific detail has caught everyone’s attention.

Fans noticed that Loki is positioned directly at the center of the artwork. More importantly, his placement lines up almost perfectly with Doctor Doom’s chest. That visual alignment has led many viewers to revisit a long-running rumor involving the film’s main villain.

Although this could simply be an artistic choice, some fans believe the composition may subtly hint at Doctor Doom eventually taking Loki’s power.

A Long-Running Rumor Suggests Doctor Doom Will Steal Loki’s Power

The artwork has revived speculation surrounding a rumor that has circulated for months. According to the theory, Doctor Doom will steal Loki’s incredible power by tearing out his heart during the events of Avengers: Doomsday.

At this point, it is important to note that Marvel Studios has not confirmed this storyline. The rumor remains entirely speculative, and nothing official suggests that the scene will appear in the film.

Nevertheless, the positioning of Loki in Andy Park’s artwork has convinced some fans that the image could be teasing the rumored twist.

Loki Season 2 May Have Set Up the MCU’s Secret Wars Story

The theory carries extra weight because of how Loki Season 2 ended.

Rather than escaping his responsibilities, Loki sacrificed his own freedom to save the Multiverse. He embraced his destiny as the God of Stories and now sits at the center of every branching timeline, holding the entire Multiverse together.

Because Loki now possesses such immense power, some fans believe he could replace another major Marvel Comics character in the MCU’s version of Secret Wars.

Could Loki Replace Molecule Man in Secret Wars?

In Jonathan Hickman’s Secret Wars comic, Doctor Doom does not steal Loki’s abilities. Instead, he acquires the Beyonders’ power through Molecule Man before reshaping reality and creating Battleworld, where he rules as a god.

However, the MCU has never introduced Molecule Man.

As a result, many fans have theorized that Marvel Studios could replace Molecule Man with Loki. If Doctor Doom were to take Loki’s multiversal power, the film could still reach a similar destination while adapting the comic story in a way that better fits the MCU’s established continuity.

Such a change would also make the story far more emotional because audiences have followed Loki’s journey for more than a decade.

The Theory Also Raises Questions About Loki’s Fate

If the rumor proves accurate, Loki’s future could be in serious danger.

Many fans believe Doctor Doom stealing Loki’s power would almost certainly require Loki’s death. That possibility has fueled even more discussion online, especially since the character previously died at the beginning of Avengers: Infinity War before later returning through the Disney+ series.

Additionally, Loki was originally expected to play a major role in Marvel Studios’ Multiverse Saga when Kang served as the central villain. After the studio shifted its long-term plans, Doctor Doom became the saga’s primary threat.

Some fans now believe Loki’s story could naturally transition into Doctor Doom’s rise, giving the villain the power needed to reshape reality.

Of course, Marvel Studios has not confirmed any of these rumors.

Avengers: Doomsday Brings Together Marvel’s Biggest Heroes

Regardless of the speculation, Avengers: Doomsday is shaping up to be one of Marvel Studios’ biggest crossover films.

The movie will unite heroes from the Avengers, Fantastic Four, and X-Men franchises as they face a massive multiversal threat led by Doctor Doom.

The star-studded cast includes Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, Winston Duke, Tom Hiddleston, Sebastian Stan, Letitia Wright, Paul Rudd, Robert Downey Jr., Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Joseph Quinn, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, James Marsden, Channing Tatum, and many more.

The Russo Brothers are directing both Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, while Stephen McFeely has written the screenplay.

Avengers: Doomsday is currently scheduled to arrive in theaters on December 18.
