Thunderbolts Character

Rumor: Fan-Favorite Thunderbolts Character Won’t be in Avengers: Doomsday!

Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday is currently in production. Joe and Anthony Russo, the Russo Brothers, are directing the film, which is scheduled for release in 2026. Its sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars, will follow in 2027. Although several Thunderbolts characters will appear, a fan-favorite Thunderbolts Character won’t join the upcoming blockbuster.

Which Thunderbolts Character is Missing from Avengers: Doomsday?

Fans were excited to see Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier and Wyatt Russell as John Walker/U.S. Agent in Avengers: Doomsday. Additionally, Florence Pugh will return as Yelena Belova, Lewis Pullman as Bob Reynolds/Sentry, David Harbour as Alexei Shostakov, and Hannah John-Kamen as Ava Starr/Ghost.

However, scooper Alex Perez of The Cosmic Circus revealed that fans shouldn’t expect one key Thunderbolts Character: Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ Valentina Allegra de Fontaine. When asked about Valentina Allegra de Fontaine’s role in the upcoming blockbuster, he replied,

“Not that I’m aware of. To my understanding, she went back into the shadows while the New Avengerz were occupied.”

This revelation has sparked discussions online, with many fans debating how her absence might change the dynamics of the Thunderbolts team in the MCU.

Valentina Allegra de Fontaine’s MCU Journey

Thunderbolts Character

Valentina made her official MCU debut in 2021’s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. She then had a brief cameo in Black Widow (2021) and appeared in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022). Despite fan speculation, Marvel has not officially announced her next MCU appearance.

Meanwhile, the Avengers: Doomsday cast features Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, and Anthony Mackie as Captain America. Other notable cast members include Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Patrick Stewart as Professor X, Ian McKellen as Magneto, Letitia Wright as Black Panther, Tenoch Huerta Mejía as Namor, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, and Channing Tatum as Gambit.

This star-studded ensemble shows that the film will still deliver massive scale and epic stakes, even without this particular Thunderbolts Character.

With Valentina Allegra de Fontaine absent from Avengers: Doomsday, fans are speculating about her future in the MCU. Some believe she could play a key role in Avengers: Secret Wars, potentially shaping the multiverse or other emerging storylines.

In the meantime, audiences can revisit Thunderbolts on Disney+ to catch up on the confirmed characters. Avengers: Doomsday will hit theaters on December 18, 2026, followed by Avengers: Secret Wars on December 17, 2027. Although this Thunderbolts Character will be absent, it allows the MCU to introduce new surprises and unexpected twists for fans.
