New X-Men Rumor Reveals Two Actors Reportedly in the Running for Professor X!

Marvel Studios‘ X-Men reboot continues to generate excitement, even though the studio has yet to officially announce its cast. Over the past few months, numerous rumors have pointed toward several major Hollywood stars joining the highly anticipated project. Now, another report has surfaced, suggesting that two well-known actors could be competing for one of Marvel’s most iconic roles.

Fans are eagerly waiting for official confirmation. Meanwhile, the latest speculation has reignited discussions about who could become the MCU’s next Charles Xavier.

Bill Skarsgård and Patrick Wilson Reportedly in the Running

According to industry insider @MyTimeToShineH, Bill Skarsgård is reportedly in talks with Marvel Studios. The insider claims Marvel Studios is considering Bill Skarsgård for the role of Professor X in the upcoming X-Men reboot.

Meanwhile, Knight Edge Media reports that Patrick Wilson is also being eyed for the legendary mutant leader. However, it’s important to note that Marvel Studios has not confirmed either report, and neither actor has publicly addressed the rumors.

If the reports prove accurate, Marvel appears to be weighing two experienced performers who bring very different styles to the role of Charles Xavier.

Which Version of Professor X Could the X-Men Introduce?

Although the rumored casting has grabbed headlines, another major question remains unanswered: which version of Professor X will appear in the MCU?

At this stage, there is no indication whether Marvel Studios plans to introduce the traditional wheelchair-bound Charles Xavier familiar to most fans or a newer interpretation inspired by the comics’ Krakoan era.

As a result, the eventual casting choice may depend heavily on the direction Marvel intends to take with its rebooted mutant universe.

More X-Men Casting Rumors Continue to Surface

These latest reports arrive shortly after another rumor linked Adam Driver to the role of Magneto in Marvel Studios’ upcoming reboot.

In addition, former Nexus Point News writer @ApocHorseman recently claimed:

“[Storm is] being cast right now alongside Cyclops, Rogue, and others. They don’t have anyone yet.”

Although none of these reports have been officially verified, they suggest that Marvel Studios could be actively assembling its new generation of X-Men characters.

Bill Skarsgård and Patrick Wilson Bring Strong Franchise Experience

Bill Skarsgård has built an impressive résumé with standout performances in It, John Wick: Chapter 4, Barbarian, Boy Kills World, Nosferatu, and The Crow. Marvel fans may also recognize his voice work as Kro in Eternals.

Patrick Wilson is equally familiar with blockbuster franchises. He is widely known for The Conjuring series and Aquaman films. Interestingly, Wilson was once attached to Ant-Man before ultimately leaving the project during its early development.

Both actors possess the dramatic range and screen presence needed to portray Charles Xavier, making either choice an intriguing possibility.

Professor X Has a Rich X-Men Legacy

Professor X remains one of Marvel’s most beloved characters. Patrick Stewart first brought Charles Xavier to life in Fox’s original X-Men films before returning for several later appearances. Years afterward, James McAvoy portrayed a younger version of the mutant leader, earning praise for his emotional performance.

Consequently, whoever ultimately takes over the role in the MCU will inherit one of Marvel’s most iconic legacies.

Marvel Studios has yet to announce an official release date. However, current reports suggest the X-Men reboot is expected to arrive in 2028.

Until Marvel makes an official announcement, fans should treat these casting reports as rumors. Nevertheless, with speculation surrounding Bill Skarsgård, Patrick Wilson, Adam Driver, and several other actors continuing to grow, excitement for Marvel’s mutant future shows no signs of slowing down.
