Rumors surrounding Spider-Man: Brand New Day have been circulating for weeks. However, one Marvel star has now directly addressed the speculation. As a result, fans hoping for a surprise crossover may need to temper their expectations.
Charlie Cox has once again denied that Daredevil will appear in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, shutting down ongoing speculation about a possible cameo. Over the past few months, rumors have continued to gain traction online, especially as production updates for the film started to emerge. Because of that, many fans believed Marvel Studios might be planning another major crossover.
Charlie Cox Denies Spider-Man: Brand New Day Appearance
While speaking at the BAFTA Games Awards, Cox responded immediately when asked about Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
He made his stance very clear:
“I’m not in it. I’m not in it.”
Furthermore, when asked about rumors involving a teaser shot featuring The Hand, Cox doubled down on his denial.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about, but I’m not there,”
Additionally, Cox jokingly suggested that unless he was digitally inserted into the film later, he has no involvement in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. His response appeared confident and direct, which made it harder for fans to interpret the comments as misdirection.
The interviewer then noted that fans would likely be disappointed. Cox agreed, especially since he has previously expressed interest in teaming up with Spider-Man. In fact, Cox has often spoken positively about working alongside Spider-Man in the MCU, which further fueled speculation about his possible appearance.
This Isn’t the First Spider-Man: Brand New Day Denial
Interestingly, this is not the first time Cox has addressed Spider-Man: Brand New Day rumors. Previously, during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, he responded to similar speculation.
Cox explained that even if he were involved, he would not reveal it publicly. Consequently, some fans believed his denials might be misdirection. Nevertheless, his recent comments appear more direct and definitive. Because of this, many fans now believe Daredevil may not appear in the film after all.
At the same time, Marvel Studios is known for keeping major cameos secret. Therefore, some fans still believe a surprise appearance could happen. However, for now, Cox’s comments remain the clearest indication available.
