Wolverine: Exciting New Report Highlights Hugh Jackman’s MCU and X-Men Future!

According to a new report, Hugh Jackman’s future in the MCU may extend beyond Deadpool & Wolverine. Consequently, the update has fueled speculation about his return. Moreover, it points to an evolving future for the X-Men franchise within Marvel Studios.

Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine Legacy

Jackman first played the character in 2000’s X-Men and, over the years, appeared in several Fox-era films, including:

  • X2
  • X-Men: The Last Stand
  • X-Men Origins: Wolverine
  • The Wolverine
  • X-Men: Days of Future Past
  • Logan

Additionally, he made cameo appearances in X-Men: First Class and X-Men: Apocalypse, with archival footage used in Deadpool 2. Jackman’s portrayal has left an indelible mark on the character and remains beloved by fans worldwide.

The Future of Wolverine in the MCU

After Disney acquired Fox, Jackman reprised the role in the MCU film Deadpool & Wolverine. However, Marvel has not officially confirmed his next appearance. As a result, speculation continues to point toward potential roles in Avengers: Doomsday and/or Avengers: Secret Wars.

Moreover, Jackman has publicly stated that he is open to returning to the role, further exciting fans who hope to see him back in action.

Rumors About Two Wolverines

Additionally, scooper James Mack recently claimed that Jackman’s portrayal is here to stay:

“No, as far as I know, we’ll have two Wolverines coexisting simultaneously in the new rebooted universe in the next saga. One Wolverine played by a new actor as part of the X-Men, and Old Man Logan portrayed by Hugh Jackman.”

Consequently, this suggests that the MCU could feature both a classic Hugh Jackman portrayal and a new version of the character in the upcoming saga. Nevertheless, it is important to note that this report remains purely a rumor, as Marvel Studios has made no official announcement regarding Jackman’s return.

New X-Men Movie in Development

In addition to the ongoing speculation, Marvel Studios is currently developing a new X-Men movie. The studio has confirmed that Thunderbolts filmmaker Jake Schreier will direct the film. However, Marvel has not yet revealed any casting details and expects to release the movie after Avengers: Secret Wars.

As Marvel expands its universe, fans eagerly anticipate Wolverine’s return and are excited to see how the X-Men will integrate into the MCU.

While nothing is confirmed, Jackman’s willingness to reprise the role, along with rumors of two coexisting versions of the character, suggests an exciting future. Fans could potentially see Old Man Logan interact with a new incarnation in ways that may redefine the character’s legacy for a new generation.
