Meanwhile, in Marvel Zombies, Black Panther appears in a silent cameo, with Peter Parker narrating the scene to provide context.
Bryan Andrews explained:
“Being able to revisit his character in that way… it was another way to be with him, even though there were no words. It’s still Chadwick’s Black Panther, and that’s rad.”
By thoughtfully handling his character, the team ensured that fans could still experience a meaningful connection with T’Challa, despite Boseman’s absence.
Collaboration with Ryan Coogler Enhanced the Tribute
Marvel TV head Brad Winderbaum noted:
“Ryan [Coogler] provided great ideas that enhanced the tribute.”
Furthermore, Coogler, the director of the Black Panther films, actively contributed to the animatic sequence for Marvel Zombies, helping make the tribute feel authentic. As a result, the canceled Black Panther spinoff still influenced the presentation of the character in Marvel’s animated projects.
