Rogue fancast in MCU

Margaret Qualley Breaks Silence on Rogue Fancast and MCU Rumors!

Margaret Qualley has long been one of the top picks in the Rogue fancast in MCU community. After her breakout in The Nice Guys (2016), she climbed further with critically acclaimed roles in Fosse/Verdon and Maid. Her career also includes a memorable appearance in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood.

With her rising profile and unique charisma, fans have been hoping to see her join the Marvel Cinematic Universe, especially as Rogue. However, Qualley has finally responded to those rumors—and her answer might disappoint fans.

What’s Next for the Fan-Favorite Rogue Fancast Pick?

Qualley has signed on to star in several big upcoming projects. She has a small role in Adam Sandler’s Happy Gilmore 2, and she’ll also star opposite Glen Powell in Huntington. She has even been cast in a role in Ridley Scott’s next film, The Dog Stars, which is slated for a March 27, 2026, release date. However, there’s one role that fans have claimed she’d be perfect for, and now she’s finally broken her silence about it.

Even though she’s not actively pursuing the MCU, her packed schedule shows she’s in high demand. Still, her fan-driven association with the Rogue fancast in MCU remains strong.

Margaret Qualley Reacts to Rogue Fancast in MCU Buzz

Qualley is one of the most popular fancasts to play Rogue in the MCU’s X-Men movie, which will be directed by Jake Schreier (Thunderbolts). Keke Palmer has also been a fan favorite.

During a recent episode of Collider Ladies Night, host Perri Nemiroff caught up with the rising star, now 30, and asked her a key question: if she could join one major franchise, which would it be—and who would she play?

Qualley replied with a laugh, “Oh, I don’t think I want to commit to a franchise. It seems like a lot of time, and I’m scared [laughs].”

When Nemiroff specifically brought up the rumors and fancasts of her playing Rogue in the MCU, Qualley simply responded, “Oh shit. Okay,” before the conversation moved on in a different direction.

Why Qualley May Be Avoiding a Franchise Role

While her reaction was casual, it does reflect the reality that many actors face when considering long-term franchise roles. Committing to the MCU, especially in a high-profile film like the upcoming X-Men reboot directed by Thunderbolts’ Jake Schreier, could mean years of shooting and promotion.

Still, her presence in Rogue fancast in MCU discussions proves that fans strongly believe in her potential. Alongside Keke Palmer—another top fan choice—Qualley’s name continues to trend whenever the topic of Rogue arises.

What’s Next for the Fan-Favorite Rogue Fancast Pick?

Even if the MCU isn’t in her immediate plans, Qualley’s upcoming slate is impressive. She has a small role in Adam Sandler’s Happy Gilmore 2, and she’ll star opposite Glen Powell in Huntington. Most notably, she’s been cast in Ridley Scott’s next film, The Dog Stars, scheduled to release on March 27, 2026.

Qualley to Star Alongside MCU Alumni in Upcoming Film

Interestingly, her next big project, Honey Don’t!, is a comedic crime thriller from Ethan Coen. In the film, she stars alongside two major MCU veterans: Chris Evans and Aubrey Plaza. Evans, of course, played Captain America for over a decade before passing the shield to Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson. Meanwhile, Plaza recently made her MCU debut as Death in Agatha All Along.

If Qualley ever decides to make the leap into the MCU, she already has friends with first-hand experience who could offer plenty of advice.

Could Qualley Still Join the Rogue Fancast in MCU?

For now, it seems unlikely that Margaret Qualley will be stepping into the role of Rogue. Her comments suggest a genuine reluctance to tie herself down to franchise work. But in Hollywood, things change fast. If she ever changes her mind, the door to the MCU will likely still be open—and fans will certainly be cheering her on.

Honey Don’t! arrives in theaters on August 22. Stay tuned to Collider and MCupdates.org for continued coverage of Margaret Qualley, her future roles, and all things MCU.
