Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige recently shared a promising update about the future of Moon Knight, the Eternals, and other post-Endgame characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). As Marvel gradually moves toward Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars, fans remain eager for answers. Many wonder if their favorite new heroes will return. Now, Feige’s latest remarks suggest these characters may still play important roles in the evolving MCU storyline.
Kevin Feige Confirms Moon Knight’s Future in the MCU
Meanwhile, speaking from the Marvel Studios headquarters in Burbank, Kevin Feige commented on the possibility of seeing characters like Moon Knight and the Eternals again. When asked directly about their return, Feige said:
“I don’t know that it’s any of the specific ones you just named, but yes, that is part of the plan: Characters we’ve introduced post-‘Endgame’ will pop up again in some of the upcoming movies and beyond. The fun of the comics is anyone popping up anywhere.”
Even though he didn’t confirm specific names such as Clea (Charlize Theron), Starfox (Harry Styles), Hercules (Brett Goldstein), or Mephisto (Sacha Baron Cohen), his comments nevertheless reassured fans that many characters introduced in recent phases will reappear.
Eternals and Moon Knight: What We Know
Moon Knight, portrayed by Oscar Isaac, remains one of the standout characters introduced after Avengers: Endgame. His Disney+ debut in March 2022 captivated audiences with its darker tone and psychological complexity. Meanwhile, the Eternals, introduced in Chloé Zhao’s 2021 film, expanded the MCU’s cosmic scale in ambitious ways.
Still, both properties have remained in limbo since their introductions. However, Feige’s recent comments suggest they are far from forgotten. Their return could align with Marvel’s evolving multiversal narrative and eventual character reshuffling.
What Moon Knight’s Return Could Mean
Moon Knight returns, he may play a vital role in the MCU’s supernatural frontier. He could potentially team up with Blade or appear in a Midnight Sons project. His unique mix of mysticism and psychological struggle adds depth to Marvel’s growing tonal diversity.
Secret Wars Sets Up a New Era
Beyond individual character arcs, Feige also emphasized that Avengers: Secret Wars will reshape the MCU. He explained:
“We’re utilizing that [story] not just to round out the stories we’ve been telling post-‘Endgame,’ just as importantly — and you can look at the ‘Secret Wars’ comics for where that takes you — it very, very much sets us up for the future. ‘Endgame,’ literally, was about endings. ‘Secret Wars’ is about beginnings.”
This shift even includes recasting iconic roles like the X-Men, hinting at a broad reset that could open doors for characters like Moon Knight to take center stage.
Fan Anticipation Grows for Moon Knight
While Feige didn’t drop any specific release plans, his statement sparked excitement. Fans have long speculated about when Moon Knight might return, especially as Marvel ramps up darker storylines. With Fantastic Four: First Steps arriving July 25 and Secret Wars on the horizon, Marvel’s Phase 6 could be the perfect time to bring him back.
Although Marvel hasn’t confirmed when Moon Knight or the Eternals will reappear, Kevin Feige made it clear — they are still part of the plan. As the MCU heads toward a new phase filled with surprises, the chances of seeing these heroes again look brighter than ever.
