Two Major Marvel Animated Series Missing from Disney+ 2025 Teaser!

Recently, Disney+ unveiled a high-energy teaser featuring its most anticipated titles for the rest of 2025. However, fans quickly pointed out that two major Marvel animated series were missing from the lineup. In fact, Marvel had already confirmed release dates for both shows and had built strong fan anticipation. Despite this, the studio still chose to leave Eyes of Wakanda and Marvel Zombies out of the teaser.

Only One Marvel Title Highlighted in Disney+ Teaser

Disney+ included only Wonder Man in its 2025 sizzle reel. The live-action series stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Simon Williams and stood out as the only Marvel Studios project in the preview.

Fans quickly noticed the absence of two major titles. Both Eyes of Wakanda and Marvel Zombies had already generated strong buzz and secured 2025 release dates. Their omission left many wondering why Marvel skipped over such highly anticipated shows.

Why Were Marvel Animated Series Left Out?

Many viewers believe this omission points to a larger trend. Disney+ seems to be prioritizing live-action content in its current marketing campaigns. Meanwhile, Eyes of Wakanda and Marvel Zombies are still on track for 2025. Yet their absence suggests that Marvel may be staggering or delaying promotion for its animated projects.

Additionally, it’s possible that Disney is saving a full rollout for these titles until closer to their release dates. After all, this approach has worked in the past with other streaming content. Specifically, it tends to be effective for animated series that require a more targeted fan push.

Spotlight on Upcoming Marvel Animated Series

Let’s take a closer look at the two Marvel animated series missing from the teaser—each representing a bold step in the studio’s growing animation slate.

Eyes of Wakanda

Marvel will premiere Eyes of Wakanda on August 27, 2025, as an animated historical action series. Created by Ryan Coogler in collaboration with Marvel Studios Animation, the show follows generations of Wakandan warriors as they travel through different eras to retrieve lost Vibranium artifacts. Moreover, the cast includes Winnie Harlow, Cress Williams, and Steve Toussaint, promising a powerful voice lineup to match its ambitious storytelling.

In particular, this time-spanning anthology follows generations of Wakandan warriors as they retrieve Vibranium artifacts throughout history. The series firmly anchors itself within the Black Panther universe and stands out as one of Marvel’s most unique animation projects to date. Yet, it didn’t appear anywhere in the teaser.

Marvel Zombies

Marvel Zombies is set to release on October 3, 2025, as a gritty, R-rated animated spinoff of the popular What If…? zombie episode. The series dives into a horrifying alternate version of the MCU, where zombified heroes and villains roam freely, creating chaos and tension in a darker reality.

The show features a strong returning voice cast, including Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop, and Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch. Iman Vellani, who plays Ms. Marvel, is also rumored to take on a lead role in the series.

With its mature tone, violent themes, and high emotional stakes, Marvel Zombies quickly became one of the most anticipated entries in Marvel’s growing animation slate. Yet despite the buzz, the series was notably absent from Disney+’s 2025 marketing teaser, raising questions among fans about the platform’s promotion strategy.

What’s Going On with Marvel Animated Series?

Both Eyes of Wakanda and Marvel Zombies are animated titles, which may hint at a larger trend. Right now, Disney+ seems to be prioritizing its live-action content in promotional material—even when animated series are just months away from release.

While Wonder Man took center stage, the animated projects may be getting a different rollout strategy. Marvel might be holding them back for individual promotional pushes closer to their release dates. This strategy could allow each series to shine without competing for attention.

Even though Eyes of Wakanda and Marvel Zombies were missing from Disney+’s recent teaser, both shows are still officially scheduled for release in 2025. For now, Marvel fans shouldn’t worry just yet. After all, these Marvel animated series remain in the pipeline. Perhaps Disney+ is simply holding back promotion to give each show a more focused rollout. In the meantime, fans can stay tuned. Ultimately, these animated titles are definitely on the way, even if they didn’t appear in this month’s highlight reel.
