Black Knight

Black Knight’s MCU Comeback May Finally Be Happening!

Kit Harington’s future as Dane Whitman, also known as the Black Knight, may not be over after all. The character last appeared in 2021’s Eternals, where a post-credit scene teased Dane claiming the Ebony Blade. This moment signaled his transformation into the Black Knight. However, despite this intriguing setup, the character has remained notably absent from the MCU for years. Fortunately, it looks like that may finally be changing.

What’s the Latest Update?

According to scooper Alex Perez (The Cosmic Circus), Marvel Studios still has plans for Dane Whitman. When asked whether the character would appear in Blade or a potential Midnight Sons project, Perez reportedly said:

“Yes to both. They still want Kit Harington in the MCU.”

At the moment, this information remains unconfirmed, as Marvel Studios has not officially announced any upcoming appearances for the character.

Moreover, this news has reignited fan speculation. Many are wondering how Marvel will integrate Dane Whitman into the MCU’s expanding supernatural universe.

Blade & Midnight Sons Connection

The Blade reboot has been in development since 2019, with Mahershala Ali attached to star. However, the project has faced multiple delays and currently has no confirmed director or release date.

Meanwhile, Midnight Sons has yet to be officially announced, though speculation has grown following Mephisto’s MCU debut in Ironheart (2025). Reports suggest Marvel may adapt elements from the 2018 Damnation comic storyline, which prominently features supernatural characters like Blade, Black Knight, and other dark heroes.

Introducing Black Knight into these storylines could open doors to more mystical and supernatural MCU projects, providing Marvel with a way to explore darker themes while linking existing post-credit setups.

What This Could Mean for Black Knight

If these plans move forward, Dane Whitman could finally pay off one of the MCU’s longest-running post-credit teases. His supernatural ties, the Ebony Blade, and connections to darker Marvel characters make him a natural fit for both Blade and a potential Midnight Sons-style crossover.

Moreover, his return could allow Marvel to explore more complex storylines, including the conflicts between human heroes and supernatural entities, which have been hinted at across recent MCU projects. Fans could also see interactions with characters like Moon Knight, Doctor Strange, or even newly introduced supernatural heroes, expanding the universe further.
